Rail transport

Although it doesn't often appear to in goods traffic, rail is changing, rail is evolving. As a general rule, rail has abandoned the small parcels transport. They recognise the superiority in this area of lorry transport or sub-contracting logistical companies. Rail services couldn't live up to the demands of the economy in this area anyhow. There are however other areas where rail transport can excel, and this is in full wagon transport and combined traffic.

Full wagons

Our connections with various other European railway companies should satisfy your needs. "Free Access" to rail is now a reality in Europe, and we look to use the best connections and the best equipment. The “Hirrs” or “Lais” wagons have large loading capacities and allow the loading of 72 pallets, which would take two lorries to transport by road.

Combined traffic

With combined traffic we mean a unit of transport, such as a container or mobile case, which can be loaded either on a railway wagon or on a lorry. At present only containers can be handled at Chavornay, but as from next year, with the construction of the new rail-road terminal TERCO, connections for containers and mobile cases to different destinations will be possible.
